I've been looking forward to doing a sample suite with this theme, but the moment I finished the sketch I was so excited. The colors together mixed with all the gold- I couldn't wait. This was my first suite that I gold foiled, and I couldn't be happier. It turned out so pretty.
Below is the original sketch.

The first thing I did was the watercolor florals. I was excited to incorporate the insignias into the backer and envelope liners. I loved it so much that I used it for the place cards as well, instead of what is in the sketch.

The color choices are obvious for any geek to see. I wanted yellow, blue, and red shirts to be recognized. It's why the insignias are different for each piece of the suite. Instead of darker colors, I went with bold primary colors. It was so different than anything I've done so far, but it turned out so gorgeous.

The plan for the insignias was originally for them to be watercolored just like the florals around them. But then I bought my gold foiling machine, and I wanted to try it out. I got the idea to foil the insignias, and I was so happy with the result. The suite is gorgeous. Perfect for any Star Trek geek, but still elegant enough for a wedding.

I can't wait to showcase this suite at Tampa Bay Comic Con at the end of the month. The pictures just do not do that gold foil any justice.
